Enable profile custom settings

Enable this group policy to use the Custom payload to specify preference settings for applications that use the standard plist format for their preference files.

You can use this GP to add specific keys and values to an existing preferences plist file. Not all applications work with managed preferences, and in some cases only specific settings can be managed.

By default the plist files with preference settings should be placed in folder \\\SYSVOL\\customsettings.

The plist file path should be relative path to \\\SYSVOL\\customsettings folder.

Example:
set the path to:
com.apple.custom.plist
will import the following plist file:
\\\SYSVOL\\customsettings\com.apple.custom.plist

The expected plist file format is sample below:

DOMAIN

Forced

Preference Settings

Where DOMAIN is the targeted preference settings (eg. com.apple.dock or com.apple.finder)

The recommended way to obtain the plist file with expected format is to make use of the OS X server's "Profile Manager", configure "Custom Settings", download "mobileconfig" file with constructed payload, extract the payload content and copy it to the plist file.

Please refer to the Mac administrator's guide for more information
