Specify User Profiles (Deprecated)

Enable this policy to specify 802.1X User Profiles for wireless network on Mac OS X 10.6 and below.

If this policy is not configured or disabled, then all user profiles will be removed.

When using user profile, user will be prompted for username and password to authenticate wireless network after login.

To add a user profile, click "Add..." button and enter the profile name and setting.

Setting must follow this format: Network;Security Type;Authentication Method

:Network
Wireless network name.

:Security Type
One of the following value:
802.1X WEP
WPA Enterprise
WPA2 Enterprise

:Authentication Method:
One or several of the following value separated by comma:
TTLS
PEAP
TLS
EAP-FAST
LEAP
MD5


Examples:
OFFICE1;WPA Enterprise;PEAP
OFFICE2;802.1X WEP;TTLS,PEAP


- Automatically turn on AirPort

Check this option to automatically turn on AirPort device if user profile is specified. If this option is not checked, the status of AirPort device will not change.


Once enabled, this group policy takes effect when users log out and back in.


=== Known Problems ===

On Mac OS X 10.6, user profile won't connect automatically after login. You need to click "Connect" manually in System Preferences, which requires admin privilege. This is supposed to be an Apple bug.
