If you enable this setting, the ATL Thunk DEP workaround will be enabled for the IE Tab Helper process. This provides backwards compatibility for many older ActiveX controls that might cause a crash when DEP is enabled. This setting should be enabled to most closely match the behavior of Internet Explorer.
If you disable this setting, then ATL Thunk emulation will not be enabled and some older ActiveX controls might crash.
