Email Notifications

You can have WindowSMART send disk health alerts and product update alerts to up to three unique email addresses, which can be individuals or distribution lists. You need to provide at a minimum the email server settings and at least one recipient, but in most cases you must also provide authentication credentials. The credentials, if provided here, must be provided in their encrypted format, not their plaintext format. It is recommended you configure WindowSMART on an administrator's PC, then copy those settings as appropriate. MAKE SURE TO TEST these settings prior to deploying them across your domain(s).

The best way to test is to configure these settings on a test PC, validate that they work and then export the Registry settings. For the username and password, if authentication is used, you must copy the ENCRYPTED username and password, or else the authentication will fail.
