此原則可讓您指定在裝置上自動安裝品質與功能更新前的天數，以及在要求自動重新開機後的寬限期。

設定功能更新與品質更新的期限，以符合您的合規性目標。更新會在提供後立即下載並安裝，並將在作用中的時間外嘗試自動重新開機。一旦超過期限，無論作用中的時間為何，皆會重新開機，而使用者將無法重新排程。如果期限設定為0天，則會在提供時立即安裝更新，但可能會陰裝置的可用性和網路連線能力，而無法在一天內完成。

設定功能更新與品質更新的寬限期，以保證使用者在安裝更新後最短的時間可以成功重新開機。使用者將能夠在寬限期期間排程重新開機，且若使用者選擇不排程重新開機，Windows 仍可在作用中的時間外自動重新開機。如果使用者已有超過設作寬限期限之天數，可成功進行重新開機，則寬限期可能不會生效。

您可以設定裝置延遲重新開機，直到期限和寬限期皆到期為止。

如果您停用或未設定此原則，則裝置將會收到更新，並會依照預設排程重新開機。

此原則將會覆寫下列原則:
1. 指定更新安裝自動重新開機前的期限
2. 指定更新的 [預定] 重新開機轉換和通知排程
3. 一律在排定的時間自動重新開機
4. 設定 [自動更新]
