Default UI Theme

This policy setting allows you to set the default user interface theme for Office. Because the White theme showcases Office at its best, we recommend using this theme unless you have a reason to change it.

If you enable this policy setting, users will see the selected theme when they start Office for the first time. Users can change the theme in File > Account > Office Theme (or File > Office Account > Office Theme in Outlook). If a user has already selected a theme on a different computer (such as their home computer) and they sign in by using the same Microsoft account at work, the user's theme preference is respected.

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, Office uses White as the default theme. Users can still choose their own theme, and their roaming preferences are respected if they are signed in.
